Haute Maurienne : Land of Art and History
 
The historical and cultural wealth of Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard justifies the " Pays d’Art et d’Histoire " label awarded by the Ministry of Culture to the "Chemins du Baroque". Discover an essential aspect of mountain people's life in the medieval murals of the St Sébastien chapel, and the baroque wooden furniture sculpted by local craftsmen in the St Michel church in Val Cenis Lanslevillard.

Espace BaroqueMuseum space located in the old church. You will better understand the meaning and originality of Savoyard Baroque art. Temporary exhibitions on the wealth, history and traditional life of the valley. Open from Christmas to the end of April.

12 chapels restored and furnished testify to 5000 years of history. Each one is devoted to a particular period or theme to illustrate the discovery of our villages.
The idea is simple : a big key in your hand and tokens in your pocket will be your magical passport. The "Chemins
de l’Histoire
" are a cultural circuit that you should do at your own pace, on foot, snowshoes or nordic skis.

The making of Beaufort cheese, film projection, visit of the cellars, maturing and tasting of Beaufort cheese.
Compulsory application at Maisons de Val Cenis on the eve of the visit at the latest.

Free visit : Agricultural exhibition and making of Beaufort cheese, visit of the work cellar in the morning. For groups : guided visit on appointment (applications at the dairy farm)
