During this time, the 7 villages of Haute-Maurienne Vanoise will welcome the Grande Odyssée for the fifth year running.
This is a dog sled race which this year, for the first time, will be one of the qualifying events for the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest, reputedly the most difficult races in the world.
No less than 25 teams, comprising more than 300 dogs, will hurtle along the snow-covered slopes of Haute-Maurienne Vanoise. It is an opportunity for the thousands of spectators to join in – the starts, finishes and staging points all provide excellent opportunities to cheer on the teams !
