Mountain for all !

Accessible mountain

The communes of Haute Maurienne-Vanoise, together with those of Pays des Ecrins and Briançon and various Italian local districts, have joined with the Vanoise National Park to formulate a cross-border plan to develop and expand access to mountain areas.

This project, “Mountains for all”, is financed by the European Union within the scope of Interreg IIIA. Different strategies are anticipated concerning the raising of public awareness and the communication and promotion of what is available to the tourist. Financial support is provided for investment and practical developments in these areas.

Val Cenis is committed to following the ideal of “Mountains for All” and, as such, is investing in the provision of facilities which will enable people of impaired mobility to enjoy and profit from the mountains. These include the installation of a hoist at the swimming pool in the Glières Leisure Park and investment in “all terrain” wheelchairs which have been designed to enable easier unassisted travel..
