Ice climbing in Val Cenis - Glacenost, the icy adventure

Glacenost is a magnificent waterfall, completely frozen in winter, one of the most beautiful in France, reserved for the very experienced in the high mountains.

Location

From Bramans, take the direction of Planay. The road is closed in winter. A free shuttle bus is provided by the commune (timetable on the Tourist Office website).
You can see the waterfall from a magnificent promontory at the end of the straight line where the shuttle stops. From there, retrace your steps and descend into the steep forest on the left (crampons are sometimes useful) to the Ambin stream. Climb up to the foot of the waterfall.
