The train
To reduce CO₂ emissions!Val Cenis one of the most easily accessible French ski resorts by train. The Modane train station, located just 25 km from the resort, is served by direct TGV trains from Paris as well as by Frecciarossa trains (Italian high-speed trains). From the station, a direct bus (line S53) also takes you to Val Cenis about 30 minutes.

Traffic info
In winter, the Mont-Cenis and Iseran passes are closed to traffic.
The Mont Cenis road to Italy from Val Cenis is transformed into a ski slope (L'Escargot, Europe's longest green run at 13km). The road is generally closed from the 2nd Monday in November to the 2nd Friday in May*.
The route de l'Iseran (Route des Grandes Alpes, which takes you to Val Cenis from Val d'Isère) is blocked by meters of snow (up to 8m at the aptly named "Pont de la neige"). The road is generally closed from the 1st Monday in November to the 2nd Friday in June*.

By plane
The airports of Chambéry, Grenoble, Geneva, Lyon and Turin are a 2.5-hour drive from Val Cenis. In winter, there are bus connections from Chambéry airport to Haute Maurienne.
