By train
The best mode of transport to limit CO2 emissionsVal Cenis is easily accessible by train. The nearest station (35km) is Saint-Michel-Valloire (trains no longer serve Modane station following a landslide. Major work is underway to restore the line).
Note: from the Saint-Michel-Valloire station, the S53 bus takes you directly to Val Cenis in summer and winter.

By car
Freeway A43 towards Turin, exit 30 (Modane/Haute Maurienne) then departmental road D1006 (ex-RN6):
- Val Cenis Bramans: 10 km
- Val Cenis Sollières: 15 km
- Val Cenis Termignon: 17.5 km
- Val Cenis Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis: 23 km
- Val Cenis Lanslevillard: 26 km
Traffic info
In winter, the Mont-Cenis and Iseran passes are closed to traffic.
The Mont Cenis road to Italy from Val Cenis is transformed into a ski slope (L'Escargot, Europe's longest green run at 13km). The road is generally closed from the 2nd Monday in November to the 2nd Friday in May*.
The route de l'Iseran (Route des Grandes Alpes, which takes you to Val Cenis from Val d'Isère) is blocked by meters of snow (up to 8m at the aptly named "Pont de la neige"). The road is generally closed from the 1st Monday in November to the 2nd Friday in June*.
*Dates subject to change, roads may be closed earlier depending on weather conditions.

By plane
The airports of Chambéry, Grenoble, Geneva, Lyon and Turin are a 2.5-hour drive from Val Cenis. In winter, there are bus connections from Chambéry airport to Haute Maurienne.
