Petit Mont-Cenis Pass

The Petit Mont-Cenis Pass (Colle del Piccolo Moncenisio in Italian), at an elevation of 2,183 meters, is located above the Maurienne Valley and the Susa Valley, within the Mont-Cenis massif. Parking is prohibited there from July 1 through August 31.

Description

It runs between Pointe Droset (2,917 m) and Pointe de Bellecombe (2,755 meters). It connects Bramans in France (to the northwest) with Moncenisio and Susa in Italy (to the southeast).
The narrow paved road that runs along it branches off from the D1006 at the Mont-Cenis Pass and, after circling the lake of the same name to the northwest, passes near the Petit Mont-Cenis mountain hut and reaches the pass on the Val di Susa side. On the Maurienne side, a trail descends into the Ambin Valley, allowing hikers and mountain bikers to reach Bramans on foot or by mountain bike. Vehicles longer than 5 meters are prohibited from using the road during the summer season.
