Become a prehistoric potter!
A fun day exploring prehistoric potters at the Balmes cave
Description
This day will give the children the opportunity to discover and practice experimental archaeology, which consists in rediscovering ancestral techniques and know-how. After discovering the Museum, a short walk takes them to the Balmes site, where they can visit the first room of the cave. The second part of the day is devoted to a joint scientific project on the evolution of prehistoric ceramics in Val-Cenis Sollières. Thanks to an introductory pottery workshop in which they will make their own vase, the children will learn about ceramics techniques, apprenticeship and the acquisition of know-how.
