A day to discover prehistoric potters at the Balmes de Sollières Sardières cave

Description

Experimental archaeology consists in rediscovering prehistoric techniques and know-how. This is the educational aim of the day, which begins with a visit to the Museum, followed by a short walk to the Balmes site, where the children can visit the first room of the cave. The afternoon is devoted to a joint project on the evolution of pottery from the Neolithic to the Iron Age, with an introductory workshop in which they make their own vase. The apprentice potters will learn about ceramics techniques, apprenticeship and the acquisition of know-how.
