The church of Saint-Pierre d'Extravache is one of the rare testimonies of the Romanesque period in Savoy. The oldest part, the apse, dates back to the 11th century. Tradition has it that the foundation of the church was made by two disciples of Saint Peter.

Description

"In mountainous regions, at a distance from urban centers and in contrast to them, robust chapels with cul-de-four apses, such as Saint-Pierre d'Extravache in the commune of Bramans, have given way without transition to buildings of Baroque structure."
