Val Cenis

Val d'Ambin Nordic ski area

1230m - 1800m
Situated between 1230 and 1800 meters above sea level, this suspended ski area on the Italian border offers magnificent panoramic views of the Vanoise National Park, its glaciers and high peaks.

A Nordic area for walkers and snowshoers: for winter hiking enthusiasts, the Bramans and Planay plateaus offer numerous snowshoe itineraries as well as groomed trails for walkers.

The routes are optimized every year to give you even more pleasure in discovering Maurienne's oldest church, Saint-Pierre d'Extravache, or the marvellous Planay plateau, opening onto wild and magnificent Vallons such as Etache.

A découvrir !

* Opening and closing dates vary according to snow conditions

Monolithe Nordic ski area

1500m - 1600m
The Monolithe Nordic ski area stretches from 1500 to 1600m between Aussois and Val Cenis Sardières.

It owes its name to a 93 m-high geological curiosity made of cargneule, a sedimentary rock, located in the forest near the pistes, which resembles a needle or a huge menhir.
Once you've got your skis on, the plateau around the Chalet Nordique is the perfect place for children and beginners to discover their first gliding sensations in classic style, or to learn straight away how to skate.
For the more experienced, this area is a good warm-up before setting off to conquer the numerous ascents and descents in the area.

Want to discover biathlon?
Find out more at the Chalet nordique (tel. 04 79 20 66 10) or contact our biathlon instructors, who offer laser biathlon introductions by appointment.

Want to improve your classical/alternative or skating skills?
Contact one of our instructors and they'll give you all the tips you need to get the most out of your skiing: miles of fun!

* Opening and closing dates vary according to snow conditions
