Description
Tango Spleen Orquesta is one of the most renowned and award-winning ensembles on the international contemporary tango scene. Among its major accolades are: First Prize in the Ensemble category at the 2026 Astor Piazzolla International Competition, with the Composition Prize awarded to Mariano Speranza; First Prize in the World Ensemble category at the Premio Internazionale della Fisarmonica in Castelfidardo (49th edition); and First Prize at the Italian competition “Suoni Senza Confini” (2010).
Founded in 2008 in Italy by the Argentine pianist, singer, and composer Mariano Speranza, the orchestra is now a leading force both for its interpretations and arrangements of tango classics and for its own original compositions. With hundreds of concerts and collaborations with some of tango’s most iconic artists, Tango Spleen has taken its music to more than 25 countries—from Italy to Argentina, from South Korea to the United States, from Kuwait to Russia—developing projects ranging from opera to progressive rock, from fado to singer-songwriter music.
As the only European ensemble invited to the Festival Nacional del Tango de La Falda (Argentina, 2011), the group regularly performs in major concert seasons and international tango festivals, notably in Tarbes, Toulouse, Turin, Edinburgh, Bordeaux, Odessa, Trieste, Innsbruck, and Blackpool. Tango Spleen Orquesta has released seven original albums.
DJ Padem ensures that the milonga runs smoothly. He enjoys playing a diverse selection of high-quality traditional music live. He has worked as a DJ for events in France, 11 European countries, and South America.
