A first in FranceVal Cenis has always been ahead of the game when it comes to environmental issues. In 2019, the station had already tested HVOa fuel with very low ecological impact, for its grooming machines. This experiment paved the way for a new stage: the adoption, from winter 2022-2023, of France' s first 100% electric snow groomer.
This revolutionary model, the "Husky E-motion" from manufacturer Prinoth, is perfectly suited to the preparation of cross-country ski trails, footpaths, play areas and toboggan runs. Thanks to this innovation, the resort can considerably reduce its use of fossil fuels, while offering performance equivalent to that of thermal models.
What's more, this snow groomer operates in near-total silence, a major advantage when used near tourist residences and sensitive areas. This improves visitor comfort and minimizes disturbance to wildlife.
