Saint John the Baptist's Chapel

On the banks of the Sainte Marie stream in Val Cenis Lanslebourg, the St Jean Baptiste chapel was founded in the 17th century. Restored on several occasions, it is now being restored by a local painter and decorator.
Description
It was founded in very remote times as a safeguard against the ravages of the Ste Marie stream. It appears in writings from 1609. In very poor condition, it was restored in 1700 by the community and especially by Jean-Baptiste Damé who was its main benefactor. It underwent major repairs in 1811, then in 1925 its last restoration before the current one. It contains a painting dating from the 18th century, the baptism of Christ.
